Asap Nast - FUCK SWAG

Let me introduce you to Asap Nast, another member of the ASAP crew.  Just like ASAP Rocky he comes with that southern type of flow and style.  I have to admit, these dudes are killing it right now.

SpaceGhostPurrp - Don't Give A Damn

The first track I listened to by this guy was "Pheel the Phonk 1993" and the first thing I thought was how similar he sounded to old school 3 6 Mafia.  I decided to look more into him and I found this song.  In this track, he sounds like a reincarnated Eazy-E.  Everything about him in this song reminds me of Eazy-E.  This song is a fucking slap, check out his album "Lord of the Black" you will not be disappointed.

Devin the Dude- She Useta Be

In my opinion, Devin the Dude is one of the most underrated Mc's in the game.  He is a great story teller and you actually get laughs out of his lyrics.  There are a lot of artists today that rap about smoking weed and all that but Devin was one of the original weed smokers.  Props to Devin the Dude, keep on smoking that tree.

Grand Puba featuring Sadat X - I Like it (Buckwild Remix)

Whenever you see a Buckwild production or remix , you know its going to be a great track.  Buckwild is a master at using various samples and loops.  I don't know how he does it but every song he touches is golden.  He makes remixes sound better then the original.  With that said, I gotta show love for Grand Puba and Sadat X they are a really good compliment to the Buckwild beat.  Overall a really dope song that any hip hop enthusiast would enjoy.

Frank Ocean – Voodoo

Frank Ocean of Odd Future comes through with a nice, mellow slow jam.  Everyone once in a while needs to hear some good R&B.  I must say, Frank Ocean is really talented and he has a really good soulful voice.  Props to Frank Ocean and the whole Odd Future crew. Can't wait to see them at Paid Dues.

Clear Soul Forces - Get No Better

"Get No Better" is the first single off of Detroit Revelations.  These dudes from Detroit bring their unique flow and style to this feel good track.  The smooth old school type beat really makes this track that much better.  This track really takes you back to the golden ages of hip hop.  Props to Clear Soul Forces and Kankick for making this dope track.

Frankie Cutlass featuring Sadat X, Redman & June Lover - You & You & You

This track is loaded with crazy Mc's.  Frankie Cutlass, Sadat X, Redman, and June Lover all coming correct on this track.  You cant really go wrong with a lineup like that.  Enjoy the rugged and raw sounds of Frankie Cutlass, this dude has produced a ton of dope tracks. Enjoy

Scolla - The Jones Ft. Phil Ade & Gerald Walker

Scolla, Gerald Walker, and Phil Ade come together for this dope track.  As always, Phil Ade kills his shit.  In general its a really good track, it has that smooth jazzy type vibe that any hip hop lover would enjoy.

Team Knoc - On My Momma

A little throwback for everyone in the bay.  If you grew up during the whole " Hyphy Movement" you know this song.  Hearing these songs bring me back to middle school and high school dances.  Lyrically not the best but you gotta love it.

Logic - All I Do

After about two days of listening to all his mixtapes and all his tracks I have come to the conclusion that this guy has mad barz.  Logic needs to keep on his grind he really has some talent.  His word play is absolutely crazy,  I can only name probably two or three MC's in the game now that are on  Logic's level.  Overall, this dude has some skill, this is what hip hop and lyricism is about.

Tayyib Ali - Keystone State Of Mind

Tayyib Ali, just like Logic in the previous post, is part of the Visionary crew.  The smooth jazzy beat and the dope lyricism really work well with each other to create this really dope track.  I'm not sure if I really dig his name but his shit is still dope and he has some talent.  Once again props to the whole Visionary crew, all the shit I've heard from them is fire.

Logic - Young Sinatra III

Logic going over the same beat as Big L and Jay-z in the "7 minute freestyle".  I must say this guy has some real skill.  I haven't heard a white boy spit bars this hard in a while.  As a matter of fact, I haven't heard anybody in the game today spit like this dude. Logic and the whole Visionary crew are doing big things.  Check out his mixtape "Young Sinatra". Keep a look out for this guy, hes going places.

Al Green-Lets Stay Together

Its one of those songs that everybody knows and loves.  I dont need to say much about the song or the artists just sit back, relax, and enjoy the smooth sound of Al Greene.

Fortilive - Mic n Me

Dope song from a group I am not to familiar with. The group consists of Slo-mo , Illmind, and mushmouf.  This group is kinda random and diverse.  Two of them are Hawaiian and one is Filipino.  I would have never guessed their ethnicity by the way they rap.  Whatever the case, these dudes are dope. ( Notice the Dream wall in the back. RIP DREAM TDK)

Kam Moye - "Let's Be Honest"

Kam Moye, also known as Suspastition, comes with the smooth chill track.  Its one of those songs with a deeper meaning to it.  Most songs now a days focus on cars, bitches, and money but this track actually sends out a good positive message  Props to Kam Moye.

Concrete Click - Naive To The Facts

The Concrete Click coming out of Boston.  The group consists of Kt, Dagga, and Dialek, their producer.  This track is on their very first album Lyrical Terrorism.  These dudes are a relatively unknown group from the early 90's.  Show them some love, they got a lot of good stuff on their album

Silent Knight - What Would I Do? (Feat. Neenah & Kam Moye)

It is always something special when rap and R&b are combined into one beautifull track.  Tracks such as "Your all I need to get by" by Method Man and Mary J. Blige broke the barrier when it comes to mixing rap and R&b into one song.  With that said, Silent Knight, a relatively new MC from New Jersey, Neenah and Kam Moye do a fantastic job with this track.  Silent Knight and Kam Moye come with the lyricism while Neenah showcases her amazing voices.  Check out Silents whole album "Busy Is My Best Friend".

Tha Alkaholics feat. ODB -- Hip Hop Drunkies

West coast hip hop meets east coast hip hop, in Tha Alkoholics track hip hop drunkies.  The late but still great ODB brings his unique style and delivery to this already dope track.  Enjoy

Urban Thermo Dynamics - Front Line

Urban Thermo Dynamics, or UTD, consists of Mos Def, DCQ, and Ces.  Before today I was not to familiar with these guys but after hearing this track I am definitely going to look more into these guys.  This song has that smooth jazzy type beat with dope lyricism..perfect ingredients for a dope track.

Smoothe Da Hustler featuring Trigger Tha Gambler - My Brother My Ace

Believe it or not these two guys are real brothers.  Trigger Tha Gambler is the younger brother of Smoothe Da Hustler.  With that said, both of these guys have some skill.  Just like many other rappers coming out of New York around the early 90's, they come with that tough rugged flow and style, which is exactly what I love about hip hop.  Dope find

Sabzi - Sex & Sumac

Dj and producer Sabzi, better known as the dj for the group Blue Scholars, did an absolutely fantastic job in the production of this beat.  The smooth soothing beat and loops used in this track really put the listener into a feel good type vibe. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds of Sabzi.

Notorious BIG feat. Sadat X - Come On

This is one of those tracks to nod your head to and smoke a blunt. The one and only Notorious BIG and Sadat X of the Brand Nubians come together with their different flows and styles to create one classic hit.

Living Legends - Another Day

"So if you ever doubt that it’s for real,
Just know that I respect all that we’ve built,
I know I don’t tell you how I feel, but this is how I feel,
And I wanna know,
Baby if we gon’ get through the rain,
And if we gon’ work for another day,
I know it always ends up all the same,
But let’s make a change, for another day"

Nick James ft. The Jacka & Traxamillion - She Got It

Nick James, The Jacka, and Traxamillion coming with the dope bay slapper.  I dont know what it is about bay slaps but they just make me wanna get up and bob my head.  You come to expect songs of this quality when it comes to traxamillion produced tracks.  He just really knows how to make a good slap.

ScHoolboy Q - Hands On The Wheel Feat A$AP Rocky

Schoolboy Q is cool and everything but in my opinion A$AP kills his verse.  Overall, its a dope track, Im really feeling the Kid Cudi sample.  ASAP and Q are two up and coming artists and if you have not heard of them yet, you need to get on their hype .

Raekwon Ft. Big Bub - We Ride Together

Something a little different from Raekwon the chef but its still a dope track.  Big Bub does a good job with the hook and chorus as well, it goes perfectly with the whole vibe of the whole song.  Whenever I listen to Raekwon, or classic hip hop artists, I always hold them to greater expectations when it comes to their lyricism and Rae does not disappoint.

M.O.P. - Guns N Roses

Everybody knows these dudes from their classic song " ante up" but trust me when I say they got a ton of tracks that do not get any recognition.  M.O.P , short for Mash Out Posse, come with that typical aggressive New York type flow that true hip hop junkies really love.  Dope track from M.O.P

Lord Finesse - Down for the Underground

Another one from lord finesse and buckwild; reppin the whole DITC crew.  As always, buckwild comes correct with the dope ass beats.  Add that with the lyricism of finesse and you got a good track.  You gotta be down with that underground.

Rick James - Mary Jane

Do i have to say more about the almighty Rick James.  Without him the music industry would not be the same.  Much respect for Rick James.   Do you love me MARY JANE

MellowHype - Claustroflowbic

Domo genesis and left brain do it once again with clasutroflowbics.  Syd really did an amazing job with this beat.. gotta give her props shes one of the better producers in the game right now. props to these dudes and the whole OF crew.  Im excited to see them at paid dues April 7th =].

Blazo - Illusive Azure

One word.. Blazo.  Sit back relax and enjoy the good vibes.

Jan 16, 2012

Blazo - Natural Green

Believe it or not I downloaded FL 10 today and I attempted making my own beats.  Ive always had a passion for listening to beats and I decided to take it upon myself to try and make my own.  With that said, that really makes me appreciate beats like these so much more.  It probably takes so much time and effort to create a beat as amazing as this one.  Trust me when I say that I will get good at beat making.

Onyx - The Worst (feat. The Wu-Tang Clan)

I dont know what it is about old school new york hip hop, but I really cant get enough of it.  The tough rugged beats and lyrics are just something that you just don't find now a days.  Onyx and Wu do a great job on this track showing what New York hip hop is all about.

Trillville - Some Cut

I heard this song walking back to my car from class.  Some dude was bumpin this and all I heard was the squeaking of the bed in the background.  Before that I cant remember the last time I heard this song.  I really forgot how great it.  Its one of those songs you just slap in your car you gotta love it.

Phil G - Show Your Love

Originally sampled from Lonnie Smiths "Garden of peace" and used by many different artists such as Jay Z and Mary J Blige.  Phil G does a great job mixing the smooth jazzy piano beat with his raspy rugged lyrical style.  I love how two opposites can come together to create one great song.  Dope track from Phil G.

E-40 – Function f. Problem, Iamsu! & YG

40 water, problem, Iamsu, and YG coming together for a really dope track.  Right off that bat you could tell its a bay song just by the beat.  e40 and the whole crew doing it big one time for the bay.   Next "function" i go to I am definitely gonna slap this one.

Diamond D - On Stage

Taking you back to 1997 with some Diamond D.  Dope beat and dope lyrics, what more do you want from a good hip hop song.  You guys should check out the whole album "Hatred, Passions, and Infidelity" its a really dope album.  Probably one of the more underrated albums and artists so show him some love.

Congratulations Niners big win for us.  You dont know how happy I was watching this game.  Alex smith and Vernon Davis really came through.  Much respect for New Orleans you guys played a good game.

Jan 11, 2012

Jan 9, 2012

KanKick - On the look out

Kankick coming with the dope track.  I am not to familiar with this guy but I did some homework on him and hes worked with the almighty madlib and is part of the Lootpack.  I see where he gets his style and beats it sounds very madlib like.  Regardless it is still a really good track; you gotta love that underground.

Big L - MVP (Buckwild Remix #2)

I first heard this track on my way back home today.  I have always been a fan of the original but I actually might like this better.  Ive stressed on previous posts how I really hate people remixing classic tracks but Buckwild does an amazing job mixing up Big L's rugged lyrics with a calm soothing beat.  The piano sample in the back is pure genius it kind of ties everything together.  Props to Buckwild and Big L for coming through on this one

Jan 8, 2012

El Da Sensei and The returners comin together for a really really dope track.  Im kind of speechless because of the dope ass beat.  the beat is just to ill I cant get enough of this song

DITC - Lyrical Threat

DITC also known ass the diggin in the crates crew.  This legendary crew consists of Showbiz & AG, Diamond D, Lord Finesse, Fat Joe, O.C, Buckwild and Big L.  That right there is a lineup for the ages.  Its dope how all of these people had a huge influence on hip hop.  All of them bring that rough rugged hardcore new york hip hop mentality that can never be duplicated.

Bonus ( DITC - Time To Get This Money)

Main Source - Fakin' The Funk

If you have ever seen the movie white men cant jump this song should sound really familiar.  Its a little throwback for the very few people that pay attention to this.  Classic hip hop beat with dope lyrics.  You gotta miss hip hop like this..

"SURROUNDED BY CRIMINALS" - THIRSTIN HOWL THE 3RD

first things first... this guy looks like a clown rockin his ralph lauren shit in this picture.  But anyway back to the song.. his choice in clothing definitly doesnt reflect on his music.  I really like how he uses the Wu sample in the beginning. dope stuff

Hex one and teknition also known as Epedemic comin with some nice underground shit. Never heard of these guys but im glad that I stumbled upon their stuff.
