It's been a while since I've posted some of that good ol' 90's hip hop. I can't express to you how much I love this beat. Its just so funky and it goes well with lyricism of Edo.G . This is one of those tracks you gotta nod your head to.
Ken Wood did an amazing job producing this track. I cant get enough of this beat. It perfectly compliments the style and flow of this dude. Check out Sean Borns new album Behind the Scale.
Raashan Ahmed teams up with Aloe Blacc and Gift of Gab of Blackalicious for this dope track. You gotta love the smooth jazzy feel he brings to all his tracks. enjoy
I was listening to some Pro Era tracks and I came across some old school Joey Bada$$. Back then he went by the name JayOhVee, but his shit was still on point. His style back then was a bit different but I still dig it. Enjoy
Its that time of the year; summer is right around the corner. Summer nights are meant for cold beers with the homies, chronic bud, beautiful women, and smooth dope tracks. This song is definitely one of those summer time jams. The beat itself makes you just want to nod your head and chill out. Summer is almost here and I can not wait.
Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era Crew, are definitely here for the duration. It didn't take much for these guys to catch peoples attention. Coming out of New York, Joey Bada$$ and the whole crew are opening the eyes of all those lyrical hip hop junkies out there. I am not to familiar with the whole crew but Joey Bada$$ is definitely legit. Keep a look out for these kids they are gonna be the next big thing in hip hop.
The name of the song first caught my eye. I thought it said Jazzybelle at first but I guess its actually Jezzabelle. I've never really heard any other tracks from this dude but this song is dope. Im really loving the whole vibe to this track, especially the vocals in the very beginning. It might be me but this dude reminds me of J. Cole ,regardless, this is a dope track.
Some old school Eminem for all you Eminem fans out there. It's really crazy how his style and flow changed over the years. Regardless, Eminem's wordplay and flow in this track is absolutely ridiculous.
I wish I could wake up to this beat playing everyday. Raashan Ahmad the Bay Area based rapper comes with the visuals to his single "Beautiful Ugly". I haven't heard much from this guy and don't know much about him but regardless, this track is pretty dope. I will always be a fan of smooth hip hop tracks that you can just lounge and smoke blunts to.
What more can I say about this dude. Although he is relatively unknown to the world, real Hip Hop enthusiasts know whats up with AG and the whole DITC crew. At first I had an obsession with Big L, but after I found out about DITC, I have been listening to all of them non stop. They perfectly encapsulate real lyrical hip hop. Enjoy
Similarly to Kendrick Lamar, Buddy is a Compton raised rapper that was founded by Pharrell of the Neptunes. You gotta love the smooth jazzy vibe to this beat combined with the smooth lyricism of Buddy and Kendrick Lamar, this is sure to be on my summer time playlist. Enjoy
It's only right that I post at least one throwback track from way back when. When it comes down to it, Rakim is one of those timeless figures in Hip Hop. He has made a huge impact on the whole Hip Hop community and has definitely played a huge role in the growth of Hip Hop back in the 90's. If you love Hip Hop, you gotta love Rakim and appreciate all of what he has done for this genre.
ASAP Rocky dropped his new single Goldie off of his upcoming album "Long.Live.A$AP". After his first album, his next album definitely has some big shoes to fill but hopefully ASAP comes through with that same trill down south vibe and style that he is loved for. Keep a look out for the new album and for new singles.
Everybody has that set playlist that they play when they are feeling down are when things are rough. Common Market comes with this chill, smooth, feel good track that anybody with a soul would love. It's not often that you come across songs with positive messages. Much Respect for these dudes.
I gotta give it up for Chuuwee. I used to hate at first but not he is definitely growing on me. He always comes with that same flow and style that you come to expect from a Chuuwee track. This dude is definitely on the come up look out for his new shit.
This is the first freestyle I've ever posted on this blog. Never heard of these dudes before last week. They are actually going to be performing at SF States Rhythms Music Festival on April 26th. Ive been clocking through their various freestyles and all these dudes come with dope flows and styles. I definitely suggest checking them out
Mach Five and the whole crew come out with the visuals to their track "Breaking my Heart". Who doesn't love a smooth chill hip hop song with nice vocals and a jazzy piano beat. Check out their new album Ratchet Shit Volume 2.
The Pharcyde, in my opinion, will go down as one of the best hip hop groups to ever walk this earth. This song is arguably one of my favorite tracks by them. Just the beat by itself is amazing but combine that with the unique flow and style of the Pharcyde and you have a instant classic. Much love for the Pharcyde.
This whole album has been on repeat on my Itunes for the past couple weeks. I have to admit, this album is growing on me and is becoming one of my favorite albums. Showbiz and Ag of the Diggin In the Crates Crew always come with crazy lyricism that is lacking in many songs today. Check out their classic album "Goodfellas" its definitely a treat for all you hip hop heads out there.
I've been getting a little lazy and I haven't really been posting on here but its about that time again when I start getting back into the groove of things. I can't remember the last time I posted a smooth chill beat on here so what better way to get back into beats with this dope Gramatik track. The sample from the song "Passing me by" by the Pharcyde really caught my attention. Gramatik tracks never cease to amaze me. Enjoy
It's classic songs like these that keep me going. Gotta keep grinding even if i'm all alone in this. Just need to keep believing that one day everything will work out.
Old School meets new school in Kendrick Lamars new track "The Recipe" featuring Dr.Dre. The two southern California natives combine their respective talents to make this smooth funky track. Kendrick Lamar is arguably the best MC's we have out today. With his unique flow and delivery, he has the potential and drive to eventually make him one of the best. Similarly, Dr.Dre broke the pavement with his signature west coast beats and that typical west coast style that we all have come to expect when listening to one of Dre's tracks. On a side note, it's really nice to see Dr.Dre get on the right track. The few leaks hes had from his "Detox" album have been kind of disappointing. Enjoy
I can't believe its been a year since I've started this blog. I've been through a lot this past year and it really amazes me that I still keep up with this. A year and 920 posts later and I am still finding more and more songs and artists that I love to listen to. I decided to post this song because it is truly one of my favorite songs from my favorite hip hop group of all time. It was my favorite track a year ago and it still is today. The smooth jazzy beat combined with that ridiculous lyricism make this song a personal classic of mine. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has ever helped me with this blog and for all those who have supported me throughout this whole experience; this wouldn't be the blog it is today if it wasn't for you guys. Heres to another year of dope music. Enjoy
